Accessibility statement
Last updated: 15 May 2026
1. Our commitment
MedPro AI is committed to making our platform and website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We target conformance with:
- WCAG 2.2 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
- European Accessibility Act — Directive (EU) 2019/882, in force from 28 June 2025, which mandates accessibility for "consumer-facing digital services" including healthcare-adjacent products
- EN 301 549 V3.2.1 — the harmonised European accessibility standard for ICT, referenced by the EAA
- Irish Disability Act 2005 §28 in respect of services we provide to public bodies (HSE)
2. What we do today
- Full keyboard navigation across the desktop product and patient portal — tested with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Esc, and arrow-key navigation in lists/grids
- Screen reader support — VoiceOver (macOS, iOS) and NVDA + JAWS (Windows) regression-tested before each release. ARIA landmarks, labels, live regions
- Sufficient colour contrast — AA minimum (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI components). Verified by automated CI checks
- Visible focus indicators on every interactive element
- Reduced motion respected — animations honour
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query - Resizable text up to 200% without horizontal scrolling or content loss
- Alt texton meaningful images; decorative images marked role="presentation"
- Captions + transcripts on product walkthrough videos
- Form labels visible and programmatically associated; error messages announced via ARIA live regions
3. Known gaps + remediation plan
The areas we are still improving:
- Calendar view screen-reader announcement — currently announces date changes but not slot availability changes. Target: Q3 2026.
- High-contrast mode for the patient chart — target Q4 2026.
- Voice control beyond dictation — under research.
- Mobile patient app (MedYou) — uses native iOS/Android accessibility layers, inherits VoiceOver / TalkBack support. We are continuously refining custom controls (e.g. the orb tab button uses an accessible button with descriptive aria-label).
4. Accessibility statement scope
This statement covers:
- medproai.com (marketing site)
- The MedPro AI clinician platform (web + iOS)
- The MedYou patient portal (web + iOS via Capacitor)
Audit method: a mix of automated tooling (axe-core, Lighthouse), manual screen-reader walk- throughs, and external review. Last full audit: 15 May 2026.
5. Report an accessibility issue
